I think we should focus on the raised beds first because they take the most time to build. The layout we discussed works well but we need more space between rows for wheelbarrow access. I measured the lot and we have about 40 by 60 feet. That gives us room for 8 beds that are 4 by 8 feet with walking space. We should set aside a corner for composting and a small shed for tools. The soil test shows we need to amend with compost and organic matter. I can coordinate with the hardware store for materials once we finalize the design. We should also plan for seating areas and a shaded spot for breaks. Let me know if you want to adjust the layout before I order supplies.

The timeline looks manageable if we start prep work two weeks from now. I can reserve the rototiller for that weekend. We will also need to mark utility lines before we dig anything. I will call the local utility locator service to schedule that. Please send me your final thoughts on the plant list so I can place the order with the nursery.

Saturday mornings would work best for most people based on the responses. We need at least 6 people each session to make good progress. The first session is building frames and setting them up. The second session is filling them with soil and starting planting. I will bring my tools and we can assess what else is needed. Should we also plan a weekday evening option for those who cannot make weekends? I can contact the community center about using their parking lot as a meeting point. We should also set a rain date in case the weather does not cooperate.

I spoke with the nursery and they can deliver the soil mix and plants on a Friday before the work sessions. That will give us time to stage everything. Let me know if the group wants to adjust the plant selection toward more pollinator-friendly options as several people mentioned that. I can update the order if we decide by early next week.
