Hey thanks for your note about the gathering next weekend. I think Saturday afternoon works best since the weather should hold up. We were thinking of doing something casual maybe a grill setup in the backyard if the wind cooperates. I can bring that side dish you mentioned the roasted veggie medley with the herbs from my garden. Let me know if you need me to grab any supplies or if there is anything specific you want me to prep ahead of time. I will be free most of the morning so just send over the list and I will take care of it. Also I can swing by early to help set up chairs and tables if you need an extra hand. I know the last few weeks have been busy so I am happy to help lighten the load wherever I can. Just let me know what time works best for everyone and I will coordinate with the others to bring serving bowls and utensils. Sounds like it will be a nice relaxed afternoon which is exactly what I need right now.

Regarding your question about the weekend hike I think we should start early around 7am to beat the heat and the crowds. The trailhead parking fills up fast so getting there before eight is a good idea. I was looking at the route we talked about and it looks like about 5 miles round trip with moderate elevation gain. Nothing too steep but we should wear good shoes because there are some rocky sections near the top. I will bring my backpack with extra water and some snacks for everyone. The forecast looks clear so far with highs around 75 which should be comfortable for hiking. We can stop at the overlook for a break and take some photos. If anyone wants to bring a compact blanket we could sit for a bit and enjoy the view. I will also pack a small first aid kit just in case since someone always manages to get a blister. Let me know if you want to meet at the parking lot or if you prefer to carpool from my place. Either way is fine with me just whatever works best for your group.
