Yeah I think the community garden plot is coming along nicely. The tomatoes we started indoors are ready to transplant. We should wait another week though because the nights are still cool. The carrots and lettuce can go in directly. I saved some seeds from last year. The basil did well so I planted extra this time. We need to check the soil pH before planting. Also need to coordinate who will water on weekends. The hose situation is sorted now. I spoke with the coordinator and they said we can use the shed for tools. Just need to bring our own gloves. The fencing around the plot is holding up. We might need more stakes for the pole beans. Let me know what time works for you to come help with the planting. I think Saturday morning would be ideal before it gets too hot. We should aim to finish before noon. The compost bins are almost ready. We can start using the new batch in about two weeks. I also picked up some marigolds to plant around the perimeter. They help keep pests away naturally. The raspberry canes are spreading more than I expected. We might need to trim them back soon.

I think the book club meeting went really well last time. We had a great discussion about the themes in the novel. For next month we should pick something shorter since several people mentioned they struggled to finish. I was thinking we could try a collection of short stories instead. That way everyone can participate even with busy schedules. The host offered to make snacks again. I can bring some iced tea. We should decide on a date soon. Tuesdays seem to work best for most people. Maybe we can rotate hosts each month to keep things interesting. I noted the suggestions people made during our last gathering. The library has multiple copies of the books we discussed. That helps those who prefer physical copies. Let me know your thoughts on the short story collection idea. I think it would give us more variety and lead to lively conversation. I can reserve the books next week if we agree. Let me know by Thursday so I can get them ordered.
