Hey, I saw your message about the recipe. I finally tried making that pasta dish you recommended last week. It turned out pretty well, though I think I added a bit too much garlic. Next time I will stick to two cloves instead of three. We ended up watching that new documentary series on the weekend. The cinematography was stunning, but the pacing felt a bit slow in the middle. My neighbor was telling me about this great book they just finished, something about the history of cartography. It sounds fascinating. I added it to my reading list for next month. Also, our garden is finally starting to bloom. The tomatoes are getting big and the basil is incredibly fragrant. I am hoping we can make our own pesto soon. Anyway, let me know if you want to grab coffee this Saturday morning. There is a new place downtown that opened last month. I heard their pastries are excellent, especially the croissants.

I also wanted to tell you about the little craft market I visited today. There was a booth selling handmade candles that smelled like fresh pine and cedar. I picked up one for the living room. The vendor was very friendly and explained how they source their wax locally. I love finding unique items like that. It makes the home feel more personal. Let me know if you want to check it out next weekend. They said they set up every Sunday near the park.

I just got back from a short trip to the mountains. The weather was perfect for hiking. I tried my hand at some landscape photography with my phone. The results were surprisingly good. I saw a deer grazing near the trail. It was a very peaceful moment. My brother is moving to Seattle next month for a new job. We are planning a small farewell party for him this weekend. I need to practice my baking skills for the party. I am thinking of making a simple vanilla cake with a buttercream frosting. I found a recipe online that looks easy to follow.

I also started reading a new novel that a friend lent to me. It is a mystery set in a small coastal town. The atmosphere in the book is so vivid that I feel like I am there. I have been staying up a bit later than usual just to get through a few more chapters. It has been a while since I was this hooked on a story. We should trade book recommendations soon. I have a stack of titles I think you might like. Let me know what you have been reading lately. I am always looking for my next great read.
