Yeah I think the contractor who specializes in restoring older homes is the better fit for this project. Their portfolio showed a lot of attention to detail on the trim work and window casings which is exactly what we need. The other firm seemed more focused on new construction and didn't have as many examples of historic preservation. Thanks for the suggestions on the community garden layout. I think putting the herb beds closest to the shed makes sense since they need more frequent harvesting. The tomatoes should go along the south fence where they will get full sun. I can bring extra stakes and twine for the pole beans.
