Yeah I finally got around to setting up that bookshelf I bought last month. It took way longer than I expected because the instructions were completely unclear. I ended up having to redo two of the shelves because I put them in backwards. But honestly once it was done it looked really nice. I'm thinking about getting another one for the living room now. The whole process reminded me of that time we tried to assemble that desk in college and ended up with extra parts. Anyway if you ever need help with something like that let me know I've become pretty good at reading between the lines with these manuals now. It was actually kind of fun once I got into the rhythm of it. The wood is a nice dark walnut color and it matches the other furniture in the room perfectly. I was surprised at how sturdy it turned out once I got all the screws tightened properly. At first it felt a bit wobbly but after I adjusted the feet it was solid. I might even stain it a different color down the road but for now it works great and I already have all my books organized on it.
I found some really nice decorative pieces at a little shop nearby that I put on the top shelf. A small ceramic vase and a wooden picture frame that ties everything together. The whole project took me about four hours from start to finish which felt pretty good considering I had to take apart two shelves and redo them. I think the next one will go much faster now that I know what to expect. Let me know if you ever want to borrow it or if you need help with your own assembly projects.

I went to that new farmer's market downtown last weekend and it was amazing. There was a guy selling fresh sourdough bread that was still warm when I bought it. I also found these incredible peaches that were so sweet I ate three of them in one sitting. There was live music too which made the whole vibe really nice. I'm definitely going back next week. You should come with me sometime it's way better than the grocery store stuff. The honey stand had samples and I almost bought a jar but I still have some from the trip to Vermont last fall so I decided to wait. There was also a lady selling handmade candles that smelled like lavender and vanilla. I picked up one of those and it's already making my apartment smell amazing.
They also had fresh pasta which I didn't buy this time but I'm planning to try next week. The guy at the mushroom stand was really friendly and gave me tips on how to cook lion's mane mushrooms. I might try making a risotto with them. There was a stall selling organic herbs and I got a big bunch of basil for like two dollars which is way cheaper than the supermarket. I made pesto with it last night and it turned out really well. The whole experience was just such a nice way to spend a Saturday morning and I came home with a bunch of good stuff. Let me know if you want to go next weekend I think you'd really enjoy the atmosphere and the food is incredible.
