I was telling my friend about that trail you mentioned last week. We finally went this past Saturday and it was absolutely perfect. The weather couldn't have been better and the wildflowers were still blooming along the upper ridge. I think we started a bit later than we should have because the sun was getting pretty warm by the time we reached the midpoint. Next time I'll bring more water and maybe a hat. The views at the top were worth every step though. You could see the entire valley and the lake was shimmering way down below. We took a bunch of photos but honestly none of them really capture how beautiful it was. I'd love to go again before the season changes. Let me know if you want to join next time. I think we could take the longer loop and make a full day of it. There's a nice spot near the creek where we could stop for lunch and take a proper break. The whole hike took us about four hours round trip with stops along the way. I was surprised how energetic I still felt at the end. We saw a deer near the ridge just before heading back down. The air smelled like pine and damp earth the whole time. I think fall would be incredible up there with all the colors changing. We should plan another trip soon before it gets too cold. I'm already looking forward to it.

I finally got around to listening to that podcast you recommended and I have to say I was skeptical at first but it really grew on me. The host has such a calm way of explaining things and the guests they bring on are genuinely interesting. I listened to three episodes on my drive up to visit my parents and it made the trip go by so much faster. My favorite was the one about urban gardening and how people are transforming small spaces into green areas. It gave me some ideas for our own balcony honestly. We could probably grow a few herbs at least. I also liked the episode about vintage book collecting even though that's not really my thing. The passion the guest had was contagious. Anyway I'm already a few episodes in and I'm planning to keep going. Do you know if they release new ones weekly or twice a month? I couldn't find a clear schedule on their website. Also I wanted to ask if you've listened to any other shows by the same producer because I really enjoy the production quality. The sound design is crisp and the editing keeps things moving at a good pace. I have a long drive coming up next weekend so I'm saving a few episodes for that. Let me know if you have any other recommendations.
