Hey, I finally got around to assembling that bookshelf we bought last week from the local shop. It took way longer than the instructions suggested, maybe three or four hours total. The wood grain is really nice though, fits perfectly in the corner of the living room next to the window. I had to adjust a couple of the shelves because the brackets were slightly misaligned, but nothing a little patience and a screwdriver couldn't fix. The trick was to pre-drill the holes for the shelf pegs. I also decided to stain it with a darker walnut finish to match the existing furniture, and it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. Let me know if you want help setting up yours this weekend. I'm free Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. We could grab lunch after too. I was thinking about trying out that new ramen place downtown that just opened last month. Anyway, talk later and let me know what day works best for you.

We took the dog to the park early this morning and it was surprisingly empty for a Saturday. Usually there are tons of kids and other dogs but I guess everyone was sleeping in. He had a great time chasing the frisbee and splashing in the small creek that runs along the edge of the park. I'm trying to get him to socialize more with other dogs because he can be a bit shy at first. There was this one golden retriever that was super friendly and kept trying to play fetch with him. It's nice to see him slowly coming out of his shell. We walked around the entire perimeter trail, which is about two miles, and he was pretty tired by the end. Now he's just crashed out on his bed in the living room. I think he'll sleep well tonight. I might take him again tomorrow if the weather holds up. There's a spot near the back of the park where the trees provide a lot of shade, so it stays cool even when the sun is out.
