Thanks for asking about the garden project. We decided to go with raised beds this year since the soil in our backyard is pretty rocky. I measured out the space last weekend and it looks like we can fit four 4x8 beds without crowding the pathway. We are using cedar for the frames because it holds up well outdoors. I am still deciding on what to plant first. Tomatoes and peppers are a given but I also want to try zucchini and maybe some herbs along the edges. My neighbor mentioned that adding a drip irrigation system makes everything much easier so I am looking into that. We need to figure out the timeline. If we build the beds this month we can have them ready for spring planting. I will send you the material list once I finalize it. Let me know if you want to help with the build. It should take a weekend at most. The local nursery has a good selection of starter plants and I plan to stop by this weekend to see what is available. I also want to add a small compost bin in the corner of the yard to keep things sustainable. Let me know your thoughts on the layout when you get a chance.

I finally finished reading that book you recommended. It took me a while to get into it but by the third chapter I was hooked. The way the author describes the setting really draws you in. I found myself looking up some of the locations mentioned because they sounded so interesting. The main character has a lot of depth and I liked how their backstory unfolded gradually. Some of the plot twists caught me off guard which is rare. I am planning to start the sequel next week. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy. We could also discuss it over coffee sometime. I am curious to hear what you thought about the ending. I have a few theories about where the story might go next. Also I came across another book by the same author that looks good. I will bring it to our next get together. The writing style is very engaging and I think you would enjoy the sequel as well. Let me know when you are free to chat about it.
