Yeah the trail conditions should be fine this weekend. I checked the park website and they said the recent maintenance work on the upper loop is complete. We should probably start early though because the parking lot fills up fast on Saturdays. I was thinking we could take the Ridge Trail up to the overlook and then come back down via the Creek Path. That loop is about 6 miles total with some moderate elevation gain. The weather forecast looks good with partly cloudy skies and temps in the low 70s. Make sure to bring plenty of water and some snacks. I will also bring the map just in case we decide to extend the hike to the waterfall. There is also a nice picnic area near the trailhead where we can have lunch afterwards. Let me know if that sounds good to you or if you have a different route in mind.

I also checked if dogs are allowed on the trails and they are as long as they stay leashed. I might bring my border collie if that works for you. She loves hiking and is really good on the trail. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you can plan accordingly.

We finally settled on a color scheme for the living room after going back and forth for weeks. We decided to go with a warm gray for the main walls and a deeper charcoal for the accent wall. The trim will stay white to keep things bright. I spent last weekend prepping the room and patching up some nail holes and small cracks. The paint store recommended a primer first since we are covering a darker color. We are planning to do the painting next weekend if the weather cooperates since we need to keep the windows open for ventilation. I also need to pick up some new rollers and painter's tape. The whole project should take about two days with two people working on it.

We are also thinking about swapping out the light fixtures to something more modern. I found some nice options at the home improvement store that would match the new look. Let me know if you have any recommendations for brands or finishes that hold up well. We are leaning toward brushed nickel but open to other ideas if you have had good luck with something different.
