EDITOR’S NOTE

Happy Sunday. After a disaster salon experience this week (have you ever seen hair both orange and yellow?), I’ve been seeking solace — and hair inspo. Enter: The “French-girl highlight,” which I’ll be screenshotting for my follow-up appointment. Until then, here are a few other things providing a much-needed distraction: 

• This summer’s surprising twist on the pop-of-red styling trick — which, as evidenced by Katie Holmes and Jennifer Lawrence, is even chicer than the original. 

• Fellow city people, avert your eyes. The shoes I’ve always considered strictly indoors are suddenly taking over the streets of New York. And it’s making me question everything I’ve ever believed. 

• I always thought my favorite frozen treat was too difficult to DIY — but this viral, three-ingredient hack proved me wrong. My freezer is about to be stocked. 

• Ever get home and discover the lipstick color in the tube looks (disappointingly) different on you? This makeup artist’s trick — involving something already in your bag — fixes that.

• Yet another sign that analog life is here to stay: This Gen X campus staple is now Gen Z’s latest obsession. Someone check on Clueless’s Travis Birkenstock.
