Yeah I completely get what you mean. I was actually just saying the same thing to my neighbor the other day after we both tried that new salsa recipe from her aunt. It came out way spicier than we expected but honestly that made it better. We ended up having to open all the windows because the fumes were intense but nobody complained because the flavor was worth it. I told her next time we should double the batch and maybe swap out the habaneros for something milder on one half so the kids can eat it too. She laughed and said shes been meaning to write down her aunts instructions properly because she keeps forgetting one of the steps every time she makes it.

Then we got into a whole conversation about how our gardens are doing this season. Mine is all over the place some peppers bolted early and the tomatoes are lagging. She offered to bring over a few starter plants she had left from her nursery trip last weekend. I said sure and she showed up with four little pots of basil and a giant zucchini that somehow grew sideways. We both stood there laughing at it for way too long. Anyway Im glad we had that chat it made the whole evening feel unexpectedly nice. CL8JWRUtXWo

Oh man I totally forgot to tell you about the bookshelf I finally put together last weekend. I picked it up from a garage sale for like twelve bucks and it was in rough shape but I figured why not. Spent most of Saturday sanding the edges and reapplying a stain that ended up looking way darker than the sample on the lid. Honestly it still looks fine. My cat immediately claimed the middle shelf and now refuses to let me put anything there. I guess shes the curator now. The whole project took way longer than I expected because I kept getting distracted by the baseball game on the radio in the garage. There was a moment where I almost glued two pieces backward and had to pry them apart with a butter knife before they set. That was stressful. After it was done I just stood back and stared at it for like five minutes feeling weirdly proud over something that was literally falling apart a week ago. Anyway if you ever need someone to build a crooked shelf or ruin a perfectly good stain I am your person.
