Yeah I think the ridge trail works better for us this weekend. It stays drier and the views are worth the extra climb. We should pack light jackets because it gets windy near the top. I will bring trail mix and extra water for everyone. The parking lot fills up fast so arriving by 7 AM is a good plan. We can take the loop back which adds about a mile but avoids the steep descent. The wildflowers should be blooming along the upper section which is nice to see. I did this trail last month and it was in good condition overall. Just watch for loose gravel on the switchbacks near the summit. We should be done by noon and can grab lunch somewhere nearby. Let me know if you want to bring anyone else along or if we need to adjust the timing at all. I think we will have a great day on the trail and I am looking forward to it.

The weather forecast shows clear skies with mild temperatures so conditions should be ideal for a longer hike. I will double check the trail conditions the night before and send you a quick update. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes because some sections are pretty rocky and uneven. I plan to bring a small first aid kit just in case along with plenty of sunscreen and a hat. The summit area has a nice flat spot where we can sit and rest for a while before heading back down. I am really excited to get out on the trail again and enjoy the fresh air and scenery with good company.

We have enough volunteers to cover the Saturday morning shifts for the next few weeks. The raised beds need fresh soil mix before we plant the summer vegetables. I ordered a batch of compost that should arrive by Thursday. The tomato cages and trellises are stored in the shed near the back fence. We should label each row clearly so everyone knows what is planted where. The watering schedule works best if we rotate shifts every two hours during the hottest days. I can create a shared document for tracking tasks and progress. The sunflower border along the fence line will add some color and attract pollinators. Let me know if you have suggestions for additional crops or if anyone has specific preferences for what they want to grow.

I checked on the seedlings this morning and they are coming along nicely. The peppers and eggplants need another week before they can go into the ground. The herb section is doing well with basil and mint thriving in the warmer weather. We should set up a simple drip irrigation system to make watering more efficient. I found a good deal on soaker hoses that we can connect to a timer. The community garden committee is also looking into adding a small seating area with a bench and shade structure. I think these improvements will make the space more welcoming for everyone who participates. Let me know your thoughts on the plans and if you want to help with any specific tasks this weekend.
