Yeah I finally got around to watching that documentary about deep-sea exploration and honestly it was way more gripping than I expected. The footage of the bioluminescent creatures was incredible and the part where they descended into the Mariana Trench gave me actual chills. My friend had been telling me to watch it for months but I kept putting it off because I thought it would be slow. Turns out I was wrong. The director really knew how to pace the storytelling and the sound design was phenomenal. I ended up staying up way later than I planned because I couldn't stop watching. Anyway that's what I've been up to lately. Hope you're doing well and finding some good shows too. Let me know if you want any recommendations because I've been on a roll this month.

I started reading this really interesting book about ancient navigation methods and how Polynesian wayfinders crossed vast stretches of ocean using only the stars and wave patterns. It totally changed how I think about exploration. The author spent years living with traditional navigators and learning their techniques firsthand. What struck me most was how deeply connected they were to the natural world. They could read the color of the water and the movement of seabirds to find land hundreds of miles away. I tried explaining some of it to my brother but he just laughed and said he still gets lost using GPS. There is something humbling about realizing how much knowledge has been passed down through oral traditions. I am only halfway through the book but already I feel like I see the night sky differently now. Anyway just thought I would share what I have been reading lately.
