Yeah, I finally got around to trying that trail you recommended over the weekend. It was absolutely gorgeous, especially the part where it winds along the ridge line. The elevation gain was a bit more than I anticipated, maybe around 800 feet over the first couple of miles, but totally worth it for the view at the top. There was a cool breeze coming off the valley, so the bugs weren't too bad. We packed a small lunch and found a nice shaded spot by a little stream. I think next time I'll bring a bit more water, though, because I ran out on the descent. Have you done the loop that extends around the back of the summit? I heard it adds another hour but passes by an old fire lookout. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the suggestion — it was exactly what I needed this weekend. I finally finished watching that series you told me about, the documentary one on the streaming platform. Honestly, it started off a little slow and I almost gave up after the first episode, but I'm glad I stuck with it. The way they interviewed all those different people and pieced together the timeline was really compelling. Episode four was definitely the standout for me — I didn't expect that twist at all. The cinematography was surprisingly good for a documentary, too. They captured some really intimate moments. My only critique is that it felt like they glossed over a couple of key details in the final episode, probably because they were trying to wrap it up neatly. Have you watched any of the bonus features they released after the finale? I heard there's an extended interview that explains a lot more.
