Yeah, I totally agree with your point about the book. The pacing was a bit off in the middle, but the character development really pulled through in the end. It reminded me a lot of that author's earlier work, which I actually enjoyed more. Have you read any of their other series? I think you'd like the world-building in their newer trilogy, it's a lot tighter. Anyway, let me know what you think when you finish the last few chapters! The garden is really starting to take shape now that the weather has warmed up. The tomatoes are flowering early this year, and I just put in some new basil plants along the side bed. I tried that pruning technique you mentioned, and it seems to be working well for the roses. It's a lot of work keeping up with the watering, but it's totally worth it when everything starts blooming. I might need to build another raised bed next season.
