Hi, thanks for asking about the cookout plans. I was thinking we could keep it fairly simple this time — maybe just some grilled vegetables, a nice salad, and a couple of sides that are easy to prepare ahead. The weather looks like it will cooperate, so we can set up tables outside and keep things relaxed. I was also considering making that cold pasta dish with cherry tomatoes and basil, since it goes over well and doesn't need much attention. If you want to bring something, a dessert or a fresh fruit platter would be great, but honestly there's no pressure. I'll send out a note later this week with the timing and what else folks are bringing. Let me know if that sounds good to you.

Regarding your question about the garden planning for next month — I think starting with the raised beds is a smart move. I've been reading about soil preparation and it seems like adding some organic matter a few weeks before planting makes a real difference. I'm planning to go with tomatoes, peppers, and maybe some herbs on the sunny side. The shaded area could work well for leafy greens if we time it right. I also checked on the compost pile and it's coming along nicely, should be ready to use by then. If you want to coordinate on what each of us grows, we can share the harvest and avoid too much overlap. Let me know what you think about starting seeds indoors versus direct sowing — I'm leaning toward a mix of both depending on what we choose.
