I was just thinking about what you said the other day regarding the garden layout. I ended up moving the raised beds closer to the fence and it made such a difference in how much sunlight they get during the afternoon. The tomatoes are already looking better than last year and it has only been a couple of weeks. I also added some marigolds along the border because I read they help keep pests away naturally without any chemicals. So far it seems to be working but I will know more once the weather stays consistently warm. DJerVmNfeWQ has been unusual this spring compared to previous years with all the rain we had in April but now things are evening out. I finally tried making sourdough from scratch and it turned out way better than I expected. The starter took about ten days to become really active and I was honestly surprised it worked at all since I have never been great with baking. The first loaf was a little dense but the second one had a nice open crumb and the crust was perfectly crispy. I used a simple recipe with just flour water and salt and baked it in a Dutch oven which apparently makes a big difference. My kitchen smelled amazing for hours afterward. I have been giving loaves to neighbors and they keep asking me to bring more. The timing works well since I work from home now and can tend to the feeding schedule during the day easily enough. Next I want to try adding some herbs or maybe roasted garlic to see how the flavor changes. If you want I can save you a starter batch just let me know and I will keep some aside for you before my next feeding cycle.
