I finally signed up for that pottery class I was talking about.
The first session was mostly just centering the clay which is honestly way harder than it looks on social media.
I managed to make a small bowl that looks more like an abstract sculpture but the instructor said it was a solid first attempt.
There is something really meditative about having your hands covered in mud and just focusing on the wheel.
I will send you a picture of the finished piece after it gets fired in the kiln next week.
It is a good way to disconnect from screens for a couple of hours.
The other people in the class are really friendly too.
One person is making a whole tea set which seems incredibly ambitious but it is fun to see what everyone else is working on.
I am already looking forward to next week's session.

It was a bit muddy from the rain earlier this week but the weather cleared up perfectly.
We packed a simple lunch and found a nice spot on a fallen log to sit and watch the birds.
The dog was completely exhausted afterwards which meant a quiet evening at home.
I think we will make it a regular weekend thing if the weather holds up.

There are a few different trail lengths so we can pick whatever works best.
I saw someone kayaking on the reservoir too which looked like a lot of fun.
Maybe we can rent some for an afternoon next month.
