Walmart Points Expiring
So I finally tried that farmers market everyone keeps talking about and wow it was such a different vibe than the regular grocery store. There was a guy playing acoustic guitar near the entrance and a little girl selling homemade lemonade. I ended up buying way too many tomatoes because they looked so perfect but now I have to figure out what to do with them all. My neighbor suggested making a simple pasta sauce so I might try that tomorrow. The basil there smelled incredible too and I grabbed a big bunch. I also found these little hand-poured candles that smell like fresh laundry which sounds weird but actually works really well in the bathroom. I think I'll go back next weekend and actually bring a bag this time because I was juggling everything in my arms like a fool. The whole place had this really nice community energy that you just don't get from shopping online. I also ran into my old coworker Maria who was selling her homemade granola and it was awesome to catch up with her for a few minutes. She gave me a sample of her maple pecan blend and I ended up buying a bag to take home. It was such a nice way to spend a Saturday morning and I came home feeling genuinely happy and relaxed.

My sister convinced me to try a pickleball clinic last Saturday and I went in thinking it would be easy since I played tennis in high school. I was very wrong about that. The paddle is smaller and the ball behaves completely differently and I spent the first fifteen minutes chasing balls that went everywhere except where I intended. But after I got the hang of the basics it turned out to be really fun and kind of addictive. The group was a mix of ages from college kids to retired couples and everyone was super encouraging. By the end of the hour I was actually having real rallies and not just sending balls into the neighbor's court. Now I'm looking at paddles online because my sister says I need my own if I want to keep playing. I think this might become my new weekend thing. The whole experience reminded me how much I enjoy learning something new and how good it feels to be a beginner at something again. There's something really freeing about not being good at something and just having fun with it anyway. I'm already looking forward to next week's session and seeing if I can improve a little bit more each time.
