Hey, I finally got around to trying that new bakery on Elm Street you mentioned. The sourdough was really good, and they had this olive fougasse that reminded me of the one we had in France. I also picked up a few of their fruit tarts for the weekend gathering. The place was busier than I expected for a Tuesday morning, but the line moved fast. I think you were right about the baker having trained in Italy — the croissants had that perfect layered texture. I am planning to go back this weekend to try their brioche. Yeah, I totally agree with you about the hiking trail we took last weekend. The views at the summit were incredible, and the weather could not have been better. I have been thinking about going back with a lighter pack to see if I can make the climb a bit faster this time. I also want to explore that side trail we noticed near the creek. I checked online and it loops around to a small waterfall about a mile in. Apparently it is an easy detour and well worth it. Let me know if you want to plan another trip soon. I also started looking at maps for that longer route we talked about. The one that goes past the old fire lookout tower. It looks like it adds about three miles but the elevation gain is gradual. Might be a good challenge for later in the season when the days are longer. Let me know your thoughts.
