When the 2009 NASCAR season kicked off in February, one thought filled my mind: Hallelujah! After months of watching NASCAR clips on YouTube, I needed the real thing. Plus, the season opener brought me one step closer to my favorite race.

Despite my private pep talks, the Memorial Day weekend race seemed like a small dot on the distant horizon. We were smack-dab in the middle of a cold New Jersey winter and I was still adjusting to a major household change that occurred weeks before on January 3. (Keep reading)
