I’ve run a lot of miles — 10,000 at least. But not alone. I ran them with Nelle, Anita, Vicki, Jan, Irma, Smoz and Margaret. Eight of us, counting me, ran through the streets of Westacres every weekday morning for 13 years, give or take a sick day, vacation or sleep-in-late day. That’s a lot of miles. And a lot of conversations.

I think it was Nelle, my around-the-corner neighbor, who started running with Anita way back then.
