There are memories that time does not erase… Forever does not make loss forgettable, only bearable. ~Cassandra Clare, City of Heavenly Fire Twenty years ago, my daughter’s seventh grade class was learning about the Holocaust. A fellow student relayed that her grandfather had lived through those years, so their teacher invited him to speak to the class. I was lucky enough to volunteer that day. The nervous eighty-eight-year-old gentleman arrived in his best suit and explained to the class of anxious twelve-year-olds about his childhood in war-torn Germany. He shared that this was the first time he’d spoken about that life. (Keep reading)
