I looked over the trail notes this morning and I think the shorter loop makes more sense for Saturday.
It still has the overlook near the creek, and it gives us enough time to stop without feeling rushed. I can bring the small cooler and a blanket if the ground is still damp.
I finally fixed the loose cabinet door too, so that tiny project can leave my mind alone for a while. If the weather shifts, we could switch to the indoor botanical garden idea and grab tea nearby afterward.
That way nobody has to scramble at the last minute. I also remembered the right pair of walking shoes this time, which feels like progress considering how scattered I was last week.
If you want, send me your guessed arrival time later and I will work around it. I am easy either way and mostly glad we found a plan that feels relaxed and simple enough to enjoy.

I tried that new bread recipe yesterday and it actually turned out better than expected.
The dough was sticky at first, but after letting it rest longer, it behaved much more nicely. I think the kitchen was warmer than usual, so maybe that helped too.
I saved two slices for this morning and toasted them with a little jam, which felt like a very small victory. The real surprise was how easy cleanup ended up being once I stopped overthinking every step.
Later in the afternoon I reorganized the shelf by the window and finally found the notebook I thought was missing. It had a list of movies we said we would watch, so now I want to make time for that soon.
