How to actually enjoy your money without feeling guilty about itHey zxcv, it’s Mark. Have you ever felt guilty about spending your money? Trust me, I’ve been in that situation plenty of times myself. But as long as you’re spending it in the right way, you’ll never have the feeling of guilt again. So here’s 3 tips I personally use to minimise guilt when I spend money: Also, make sure to read to the end of this email as I’m actually giving away some money to you guys. 1) Have a Solid Paycheck RoutineFirstly, use 50% to pay for your NEEDS, this is your food, rent, and electricity. Secondly, save 20% in a high interest savings account, this is your emergency fund Thirdly, use 30% to pay off any high interest debt, this is your credit cards and car finance. Fourth, once you’ve paid off your debts, use 25% to invest in a Roth IRA or stocks & shares ISA, this is to grow your wealth. Fifth, put 5% towards some risky plays like starting your own business, this is your chance to make some fast money. 2) Invest in Quality Instead of The Cheapest OptionSpending less, of course, is a good idea in some situations, like not spending too much on takeaway food or shopping around for the best groceries. However, trying to cut costs on everything can actually be a bit of a money trap. When I was a carpenter’s apprentice, we had to buy all our own hand tools and they were very expensive. However, I found a cheaper place down the market to buy my tools that were better than half priced. I bought a bunch of tools and I took them to work, but they ended up going blunt or breaking within minutes of using them. So I ended up wasting all that money and still having to go out and buy the quality tools, which I should have bought in the first place, and I still use those today. So remember if you don’t spend enough money on good quality products and services, then it could actually end up costing you more in the long term. 3) Enjoy Your MoneyIf you’re careful with your money, that’s a great sign you’re on the right track to financial freedom. But there’s no point in hoarding every penny you earn. You have to live your life too. Some of the best money I’ve ever spent has been on holidays. It’s actually an investment in myself and my mindset. I love to go skiing every year to take a break from my work and when I come back I always feel re-energised and full of inspiration! zxcv, what’s the best high quality purchase you’ve made? I’d love to know, so hit reply to this email. All the best, Mark Tilbury P.S. I’ve just started a new YouTube channel that covers news that makes you money.
