Staff Spotlight
|
Hooray for Ms. Ohlhausen, our incredible reading specialist, who snagged the PTA Priority Parking Spot this week! Ms. Ohlhausen has been at MRES since 2017. She started as a first grade teacher, then moved into a resource position in 3rd and 4th grade and is now spreading the literature love as our reading specialist. When asked what she loves about MRES, Ms. Ohlhausen said “It feels like my home away from home! Staff and teachers truly care about each other and their students. Parents are super supportive and friendly!”
Ms. Ohlhausen spends most of her free time chasing around her two cute kids: Hannah (3 years old) and James (1 year old). She also enjoys a good book and cup of coffee.
Ms. Ohlhausen struggled learning to read in early elementary school. She has always been interested in teaching but when she took a course in college about how the brain learns how to read she really found her passion!
Fun fact: Ms. Ohlhausen went to UVA and is a huge UVA basketball fan! Go HOOS!
