More than a year after a microburst tore off its roof, repair work is nearing completion at Elgin’s First United Methodist Church.

The department is encouraging vaccination and precautions like handwashing and staying home when sick in the lead-up to summer activities.

The Kane County Forest Preserve District will also be offering bison-related programming over the summer at the preserve.

The events are meant to provide a space for parents and caregivers to share their experiences, the health department says.
