Centreville Students, Families, and Community,
I hope each of you had a wonderful and restful spring break. Time away from the daily routine is important, and I hope this recent break provided an opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend meaningful time with family and friends. I was fortunate to take a few days to step away as well, and I return feeling energized and excited for a strong finish to the school year.
As we settle back into our routines, this is the moment to “lock in” for the remainder of the year. We are now just four weeks away from SOL assessments and AP exams, and only nine weeks from final exams and graduation. The finish line is in sight, and every day between now and then matters. Our collective focus, effort, and determination will ensure that each student finishes the year successfully and reaches their goals.
A key factor in that success is consistent attendance. A student is considered chronically absent if they miss 10% or more of the school year, regardless of whether those absences are excused or unexcused. This distinction is important as all absences count. Chronic absenteeism has a direct impact on student learning, academic performance, and overall school accountability. Simply put, being present in school is one of the most powerful ways students can set themselves up for success.
Historically, this time of year can bring a dip in attendance, but together we can change that pattern. I ask for a renewed commitment from our students and families: be in school every day, arrive on time, and give your very best effort. Each class, each assignment, and each interaction contributes to a strong and successful end to the year.
We are proud of the progress our students have made, and we are confident in what they can accomplish in these final weeks. Let’s continue working together to finish the year with focus, pride, and excellence.
Thank you and Go Wildcats!

CVHS Student Equity Ambassador Leads (SEALs) Connect with Liberty Students: Centreville High School’s Student Equity Ambassador Leads (SEALs) recently visited Liberty Middle School to work with 7th and 8th grade students on fostering a positive school culture. Their presentation addressed the impacts of bullying, how to respond when it occurs, and ways to build a culture of acceptance and belonging. This peer-led experience provided students with meaningful strategies and strong role models. We would like to recognize senior, Fatih Eren, junior, Jasmine De Paz, and sophomore, Ash Montgomery, for their leadership!
