This message is for users of the PECOS PI and AI applications in the Production environment.

Please be advised that the CMS PECOS PI and AI applications in the Production (PROD) environment will not be available from 01:00 AM EST to 04:00 PM EDT on Saturday, 04/04/2026, due to the R7.57.0 code deployment.

The following PI enhancements are included in this release:

• Restrict users from adding more than one practice location for specific provider and supplier types.
• 855A: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF), Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), End-Stage Renal Disease Facility (ESRD), Hospital-based Organ Procurement Organization (OPO), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
• 855B: Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF), Portable X-Ray Supplier (PXRS), Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR), Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC)
• Add a required “Review Complete” button in the Surety Bond Topic during reactivation to ensure DMEPOS suppliers confirm their information is accurate before proceeding.
• Updates to PECOS PI to require an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) in all scenarios when EFT information does not already exist on the enrollment. The only exception being for providers who fully reassign their benefits. The updates are made to 855A, 855B, 855I, 855S, and 20134 (Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP)) forms in PECOS PI
• Updates to provide a list of surety bond companies from the US Treasury list of surety bond companies when adding a surety bond or surety bond company.
• Updates to PECOS PI to not prompt a required error message if Active License Information is not available for ‘Hospice’ enrollments for states where license information is applicable for Change of Ownership (CHOW) workflow.

The following AI enhancements are included in this release:

• Restrict users from adding more than one practice location for specific provider and supplier types in PECOS AI and PECOS Provider Interface (PI).

• Enable Accrediting Organizations (AOs) to directly upload, validate, and process accreditation data in PECOS, improving efficiency, accuracy, and user experience in PECOS AI.
• Add a required “Review Complete” button in the Surety Bond Topic during reactivation to ensure DMEPOS suppliers confirm their information is accurate before proceeding in PECOS PI.
• Adds a PECOS AI recommended message to check the Surety Bond information during the Reactivation process.
• Ensure Surety Bond records remain active for two years after deactivation in PECOS AI, per Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidance.
• Retain Bond Data: Do not move Surety Bond to history at deactivation; keep it current for two years from the deactivation date.
• Automated Cleanup: Create a batch job to move records to history once two years have passed (calendar days).
• Immediate Move for Older Records: If deactivation date is already over two years old, move the bond to history at deactivation.
• New Exception Error Report warning to ensure NPE MACs are aware of Surety Bond information during Reactivation.
• Updates to add the VIPS Medicare System (VMS) Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) fields on the VMS EFT tab to the EFT enrollment section on the 855S form. The EFT tab will be retained and there won't be any changes made to the EFT Tab.
• Updates to PECOS PI to require an EFT in all scenarios when EFT information does not already exist on the enrollment. The only exception being for providers who fully reassign their benefits.
