Getting older has a way of getting your attention.
Lately, mine has come in the form of aching hands. After an X-ray, the
verdict was arthritis. I caught myself thinking, "Wait… isn't that
for old people?" And then quickly realizing… this is just part of
being human.
At the same time, I've been watching my sweet
Bella slow down a little. Her hearing isn't what it used to be, her energy
comes and goes, but when I carried her in her new harness on our hike this
weekend, she was in absolute bliss. Completely present. Completely
happy.
And it made me think…
Our bodies change. Life evolves. But our ability to feel peace, joy,
and connection doesn't have to fade with it.
If anything, this
season of life is an invitation.
An invitation to slow down.
To listen more deeply. To give yourself the care and support
you may have been putting off.
Because those aches, those
shifts, those moments of awareness… they're not here to stop you.
They're here to guide you back to yourself. And if you've been

the morning or before bed and place your hand gently on your body, wherever
you've been feeling tension or discomfort. Close your eyes, take a slow
breath in, and repeat this affirmation 3 to 5 times.

As you say
the words, don't just think them, feel them. Let your body soften. Let
yourself receive the support you may not even realize you need.
