March 16, 2026 – Service Update: Forecasted Severe Weather
Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and heavy rain are expected this afternoon and evening in Fairfax County.
The Solid Waste Management Program facilities and services may experience delays or temporary disruptions later today (March 16) and tomorrow (March 17), depending on storm impacts and road conditions.
The safety of employees and residents is our top priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The I-95 Landfill Complex will not be accepting loose paper, cardboard, or trash due to forecasted severe weather and high winds, the I-95 Landfill

Contractors: All paper, cardboard, and trash must be bagged before disposal.

Residents: Please place paper, cardboard, and trash directly into the compactors (no loose material).
- These temporary measures are in place to maintain safe and efficient operations during the high-wind conditions.
