March's Theme: Simplicity

It’s important to remember that action doesn’t equal progress. It’s possible to efficiently race your way towards the wrong things, and many people do. What we miss in our to-do list culture is that half the things on our to-do list shouldn’t be there to begin with. Beware of placebo productivity. The path to greater productivity and creative impact is the simplicity that emerges when we cut out the non-essential and focus only on the most important things. Any productivity that doesn’t align you around the most important things is simply placebo productivity.

THIS WEEK: What are the most important things to you? Are you allocating the amount of time you’d like to them? If not - what needs to be cut back in order to create more space?

All the best,

Steve Lawson - Monk Manual Founder
