Robe welcomed hundreds of visitors on Thursday as passengers from the luxury cruise ship Seabourn Sojourn came ashore to explore the historic coastal town. Unlike previous visits, favourable weather and calm seas ensured the scheduled stop went ahead smoothly.
ABC South East SA reporter Samuel O'Brien also investigated just how hot common playing surfaces can get during summer — discovering one in Mount Gambier that reached a scorching 86 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, our Breakfast radio team, Becc Bird and Elyse Armanini, travelled to Coonawarra to chat with Country Women's Association members about the state council meeting being held among the vines. They also shared their tips for serving up the perfect scones.
With the state election approaching, candidates for the MacKillop electorate were also put in the hot seat, outlining their commitments and views on a range of key issues.
Next week, the breakfast team will broadcast live from the Mount Gambier Library on Wednesday morning for a panel discussion with Mount Gambier candidates. The public is welcome to attend between 8:30am and 10:00am.
