Don't forget to set your clock forward one hour
on Sunday!
Losing an hour of sleep can make mornings a little harder for both parents and students. Consider adusting bedtime earlier by
10-15 minutes. Limit evening screentime and try to keep bedtime and wakeup
routines consistent.
We may see some sleepy students next week, so thank you for helping your child arrive ontime, ready to learn!

Family Engagement Survey 2026
The FCPS Office of Communication would like to invite all families to participate in taking this year’s Family Engagement survey. The survey will be available from March 9th-March 23rd.
All parents/guardians will receive an e-mail directly from FCPS about the survey on Monday, March 9th, which you will be able to complete on most electronic devices, including smartphones. We encourage you to use the link sent to your e-mail to complete this survey, but we will have paper copies available in the front office if needed, beginning on Monday, March 9th.
Family input in a child’s education is critical to their success, and your assistance with this survey is invaluable. Thank you!

Thank you to all who came out to support our Deer Park Staff last Friday in their hard fought battle against Coates Elementary. It was a hard loss for our Deer Park Team but our 6th Graders won their game and everyone had a blast!

Preschool 2026-2027
Do you have a Preschool student?
Deer Park has an inclusive PreK/Head Start program to provide a quality preschool experience with comprehensive services at no cost to qualifying families, who reside in Fairfax County. Though families may qualify, spaces are limited, and selection is based on need, not “first come, first serve”, with PreK priority given to 4 year olds and Deer Park based students. This program will be in addition our existing preschool Special Education Class Based program and our Preschool Autism Program. If you think your preschooler has a developmental delay or a disability contact Child Find for FCPS. Child Find is the process of identifying children with potential special education needs. Child Find screenings are free to residents of FCPS whose child is 2 through 5 years old. Early Childhood Registration/Childfind
If you have a child who is under the age of 2, who may have a delay contact Infant & toddler connection for a free screening.
Your child may also qualify to be a Community Peer in a preschool special education classroom. More information on this program will be available soon.

6th Grade Roller Skate Event
Last Friday our 6th Grade class of 2026 participated in a roller skating team building event, strengthening friendships, building confidence and school spirit while roller skating together.

Rising 7th Grade Immunization Clinic
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has partnered with Inspire Health Alliance, LLC (Inspire) to provide access to school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for FCPS students at multiple events taking place at designated FCPS locations throughout the school year.
- Immunizations will be provided at no out-of-pocket costs to the student or family. Families will be required to provide insurance information, if applicable, but students without insurance may still receive immunizations with no out-of-pocket costs.
- Participation in Inspire Immunization Events is voluntary.
- Additional Immunization Resources are available in the community.
Eligibility
- All students currently enrolled in an FCPS School or Center are eligible to receive immunizations at Inspire immunization events.

Visit Inspire’s School Health portal to schedule an appointment. Inspire’s portal is mobile friendly, accessible from any device, and available in multiple languages.
