Today's Milan Cortina Olympics Headlines

Saturday, February 14

He was supposed to win it all for Team USA. A shocking series of falls landed him in 8th place. Ilia Malinin defied expectations in the worst way during his free skate yesterday, not only failing to complete the quadruple axel that earned him his "Quad God" nickname, but making a series of uncharacteristic mistakes. "I was not expecting that," Malinin said after. Neither was anyone else. Speaking of expectations, the U.S. women's hockey team is flying high so far. They've won all five games, outscoring opponents 26-1 and posting four straight shutouts. Meanwhile, the U.S. men continue their Group C play today, as NFL brothers Jack and Quinn Hughes lead the squad in a faceoff against Denmark. We'll have that live for you this afternoon. We've also got PLENTY of curling. That new darling of the Olympics, Aidan Oldenburg, will be among those competing. Also today: Jordan Stolz gets back on the track for a shot at more speed skating gold, while the first women's skeleton racing medals are handed out. Can you imagine flying head-first down a mountain on a sled at speeds of 90 mph? We'd rather watch the athletes do it. Oh, women's dual moguls made its Olympic early debut this morning. It was pretty nuts, crashes and otherwise. Check out the highlights tonight in our primetime coverage, and catch up on anything you may have missed during the day. See you tomorrow, when figure skating gets back into play.
