After dispensing with all the pod-based drama, season ten of Love Is Blindmoves on to the familiar next phase of the series: the romantic getaways. This time, six engaged couples were flown to Cabo for the experiment’s second stage, but before launching into the inevitable beach parties and furious arguments once everyone gets back to their hotel rooms, there’s an unusual explanatory note: “Six couples went to Cabo, Mexico and one couple went to Malibu, California.” Sure enough, while the series transitions into establishing-footage-of-palm-trees mode, Vic and Christine are far away at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, reporting happily on the quality of their sleep, their activities, and their insistence that they are getting along just great, thank you!
It’s an atypical choice for the series, which has never before included footagefrom a couple’s post-pod romantic getaway without them being fully incorporated with the rest of the cast. According to Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen, it’s been a question of resources.
