Hi Dupa,
Let me tell you something dietitian school never taught me.
For years, I believed what most people believe about “healthy eating”:
Count calories.
Restrict foods.
Label foods as good or bad.
That’s what I was taught.
And honestly, it never quite sat right with me.
But I didn’t fully understand why until later, when I started working with a special program for people with heart disease.
That’s where everything changed.
That’s where I was introduced to the Mediterranean way of eating.
And I remember thinking… Wait a second.
This way of eating was:
• Higher in fat (the good kind)
• Not afraid of carbohydrates (again—the good kind)
• Moderate in protein
• And very big on enjoyment
Yet the results were incredible.
People weren’t just improving their heart health.
They were losing weight and keeping it off.
Blood sugar improved.
Markers for inflammation dropped.
Risk for diabetes, dementia, and Alzheimer’s went down.
And somewhere along the way, it worked for me too.
I lost 50 pounds—and I’ve kept it off for over a decade.
Not by restriction.
Not by willpower.
But by eating food I genuinely look forward to.
That’s why I’m inviting you to try a way of eating that isn’t about punishment or perfection—but about celebration.
Celebrating food that tastes amazing
and
does your body a whole lot of good.
