Therapy Dog Visit

We love our visits from Teddy, a certified therapy dog, who comes to Rose Hill every other week to spread smiles and calm hearts. Teddy’s gentle presence brings comfort, joy, and a sense of connection to students and staff alike. These visits are a favorite part of our school routine and a wonderful way to support students’ well-being and sense of community.
Prepare for Winter Weather

FCPS’ website is generally the first place to find out about emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible, including email, text, social media, the new FCPS mobile app, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated.
Be sure to plan for the winter season. Update your contact information in SIS ParentVUE, bookmark the FCPS website, and arrange emergency child care if needed.
Author Visit Brings Stories to Life at Rose Hill
We recently welcomed author Jeffrey Parker to Rose Hill for a special visit with our Kindergarten and 2nd grade students. Students enjoyed hearing how and why he became an author and learned about the inspiration behind his books. Each child also received a bilingual copy of one of his books, making the experience both memorable and meaningful as we continue to celebrate literacy and diverse voices at Rose Hill.
Parent Digital Consent Needed
We need all Rose Hill families to complete the Parent Digital Consent form in SIS ParentVUE. This allows your child to access approved digital learning tools used in their classes. So far, we have 259 responses out of 684 students (37.87%), and we need more families to complete this important step.
How to complete it:

Log into SIS ParentVUE with your username and password.

Open the Parent Digital Consent System from the available links.

Review the list of digital resources and select your consent choices.

Submit the form.
You must use your ParentVUE credentials to access the digital consent system, and if you don’t have an active ParentVUE account you’ll need to create one first.
Please complete this as soon as possible so your student can fully participate in digital learning activities!
Sensory Room Refresh: A Space Students Love
Over winter break, Ms. Edwards, Principal, gave our sensory room a thoughtful refresh. The space received a deep clean, and—based on teacher feedback—several items were swapped out while new ones were added to better meet student needs. The new ball pit has been a huge hit, and a sequined tactile fabric wall has also been added for sensory exploration. Rose Hill is one of the few schools in FCPS with a sensory room, and students can often be found enjoying and benefiting from this special space. Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…
There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergartenhttps://www.fcps.edu/registration/kindergarten-registration:
- Determine eligibility.
- Identify your local school.
- Gather documents.
- Fill out forms.
- Schedule an appointment.
After the appointment at the school (the student and one caregiver must be present), the student will be ready for orientation or any other introductory events our school may host.
