Margarita Scharm-Payne, 91, of rural Hoopeston, IL, formerly of Wheeling, IL, passed away at 10:29 A.M. Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her daughter's home. She was born August 25, 1934, in Jinotega, Nicaragua, the daughter of Jose M. and Herminia (Lopez) Rodriguez. She married Rick E. Payne on November 30, 1996, in Newtown, IL. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2020

Gerald "Jerry" Wolin, age 86, beloved husband of Carol (née Wrubel); devoted father of Linda Cohen, Marcy (Jerry) Monkman, and Jeff (Amy) Wolin; cherished grandfather of Matthew, Emily, Acadia, Rose, and Bode. A dear brother, brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, and great-uncle to the extended Wolin, Lesser, Wrubel, and Czarnowski families, Jerry was also a loyal friend, respected community leader in Elmhurst and Oak Brook, and mentor to many. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Congregation Etz Chaim, 1710 S. Highland Avenue, Lombard (60148). A reception will follow. Interment is private.
