Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti was in the middle of a press conference Tuesday when he was informed by a reporter that Mike Tomlin, his longtime rival, was stepping down as coach of the Steelers after 19 seasons.
“Holy (expletive),” Bisciotti responded. “Good for Mike. I’ve admired Mike for (19) years. That’s really shocking that he did it that way. Yeah, that’s kind of crazy.”
The same could be said for the Ravens’ situation. Just a week ago, Bisciotti fired former coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons.
For both the Steelers and Ravens, it was arguably time to move on from each coach. The Ravens missed the playoffs at 8-9, and the Steelers won the AFC North at 10-7, but lost meekly to the Texans on Monday night, 30-6.
