I came across this piece of content that stopped me on my tracks.
It perfectly describes the thing that holds everyone back from pursuing the shit they want in life:
Ideal conditions.
We tell ourselves:
"When I have more time, I'll start."
"When I learn more, I'll launch."
"When conditions are perfect, I'll go for it."
But here's the truth:
Ideal conditions don't exist.
We're just afraid.
Afraid of wasting time on something that doesn't work out.
So we put up walls. We create rules. We wait.
But the time will pass whether we do the thing or not.
Fear is just our brain trying to keep us safe from what it doesn't know yet.
Instead of waiting to be perfect, what if you just took the smallest step?
What if you devoted yourself to the process and trusted that the path would unfold as we go?
This is more woo-woo than I normally care to be, but this matters so much to me.
I've known too many people who put off pursuing their dream because the timing wasn't right.
I've talked to too many old people who regret not going for it.
Perfectionism held me back for YEARS.
And now in hindsight my only regret is that I didn't start sooner.
