Did you catch those bizarre clips of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. attempting pull-ups at the airport? Unfortunately, I did, yet another instance of watching the country's most powerful public health official conflating muscular prowess with health credentials.

But what started as relief that Kennedy did not go shirtless this time quickly curdled into a creeping suspicion that something was deeply wrong. That the "pull-ups" I had witnessed were not, in fact, real.

Was I hallucinating? No. So was the government lying to me? I couldn't say for certain.
