If you’ve been wanting to check out our full coverage, now’s the time.Greetings! The artificial intelligence revolution was supposed to devastate white collar jobs like accountants, coders or (gulp) journalists. But there was always a sense that creative gigs like a podcast host would be safe. After all, it would be impossible to replicate the personality and charisma that only a human host brings, right? Apparently not. As our Tess Patton writes, a startup named Inception Point AI has been quietly cranking out 3,000 AI-generated podcast episodes a week — with a goal of 150,000 episodes by the end of 2025. The topics hit everything from localized weather reports and pollen trackers to a detailed account of Charlie Kirk's assassination and a biography series on Anna Wintour. These episodes are framed as a sort of audio "Wikipedia" entry, free of commentary or hot takes that you'd find in a typical podcast. But the stunning part: The company has amassed 400,000 subscribers and boast 12 million lifetime episode downloads — so people are listening. Inception Point's team of eight is able to produce so many episodes thanks to its AI tools that scan the internet for what's trending, identify a topic and scrape public databases to gather information. The company has several models to generate the audio podcasts, and has invested time and resources into crafting unique AI "personalities" as hosts. Inception Point's ability to flood the market with AI podcasts marks a level of production that no human team could hope to match, and is another reminder that AI could come for any jobs — no matter how safe they may seem. This won't be our last story on AI this week, so stay tuned for our look at how the AI efforts at a media giant stalled out. Roger Cheng
