McDonald’s managers and crew coaches can cut a year from a university degree – saving up to $20,000 – by completing on-the-job training in communication, problem-solving and leadership.
In an Australian-first hybrid qualification, ten universities will award study credits towards a degree to 20,000 fast-food employees who have completed on-the-job training.
Australian National University’s interim Vice-Chancellor Professor Rebekah Brown says students are afraid to express divergent opinions in tutorials due to "cancel culture", stating that respectful debate is one of the “greatest challenges” for the university’s future.
Also, nearly half the nation’s employers are having to replace staff every six months as they either quit or burn out, according to a report from Jobs and Skills Australia that reveals chronic staff shortages.
