Barrier-free tolling, port reforms & airport buzz: What was important in the week gone by!

Hello Readers,
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), through one of its promoted entities — Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) — has set the ball rolling for the implementation of a barrier less tolling system in the country, which aims to both ensure robust revenue generation for the government as well as provide uninterrupted travel experience to users.

To be first implemented on public highways operated by NHAI, the barrier-less tolling system also referred to as Multi-lane Free Flow system (MLFF) will comprise two entities — a bank or financial institution responsible for the collection of the toll and a technology integrator, which will install an advanced tolling system.
