Caleb Komolafe ran for 72 yards and a touchdown and Northwestern held on to beat Penn State 22-21 on Saturday. Preston Stone threw for 163 yards with a touchdown pass to Griffin Wilde, and Jack Olsen kicked three field goals for the Wildcats (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) who won their third straight.

Head coach Ben Johnson announced Saturday that Theo Benedet would make his first start at left tackle Monday. Benedet earned the job after he replaced Braxton Jones against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. Jones had been the team’s starter at left tackle after a competition for the spot during training camp.

C.J. Carr passed for 342 yards and two touchdowns, and No. 16 Notre Dame pulled away from N.C. State in the second half for a 36-7 victory on Saturday. Carr connected on 19 of 31 passes, including TD tosses of 18 yards to K.K. Smith and 12 yards to Will Pauling in the third quarter.
