2025-26 FCPS School Calendar
No-Cost Meals at Herndon Elementary – Monday, October 13
Herndon Elementary will be serving lunch and a snack at no cost to children aged 18 and under on Monday, October 13, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. All FCPS schools will be closed for students that day, but we are proud to continue supporting our community’s health and well-being.
Here’s what families need to know:
- Lunch and a snack will be served together from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Meals must be eaten on site at Herndon Elementary.
- Enrichment activities will be available for children (participation encouraged but not required).
- All children 18 and under may receive meals—one lunch and one snack per child.

TOMORROW: Herndon Homecoming Parade – Saturday, October 11th

Join us for the Herndon Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 11th! This year’s theme is Minecraft: Enchanted Forest, and we’d love for our Herndon ES families to take part.
To Walk in the Parade: Meet at Herndon Middle School at 9:00 a.m.. Students and families are encouraged to wear HES gear or dress up in a fun Minecraft-themed costume.
To Watch the Parade: The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. along Elden Street, between Locust Street and Lynn Street.
