The police department is recommending that the driver be charged with careless driving causing death, careless driving causing injury and failure to yield, according to a police news release

A 29-year-old man who last year was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash was separately arrested Thursday on suspicion of abusing three puppies in what Arvada police believe is part of a years-long pattern of animal abuse.

A 16-year-old Arvada girl is missing after she was last seen in the 6900 block of West 69th Avenue on Friday.

The final suspect wanted in connection with the kidnapping and torture of two residents at Aurora’s Edge of Lowry apartments was extradited to Colorado over the weekend, police said Thursday.
