Dezeen has announced the design shortlist for this year's Dezeen Awards.

The 79 shortlisted projects across 14 categories include projects by India Mahdavi, Konstantin Grcic and MVRDV.

Shortlisted designs this year feature a cave-like store with ceiling oculi by Other Matter for Aēsop, a soft-edged statuesque lamp hand-cast in crystal glass and carved solid stone by Tom Fereday for Nau and plant-based chairs made of hemp and eelgrass (above) by Foersom and Hiort-Lorenzen for Normann Copenhagen.
